The Sinchon Massacre North Korea claims that up to 35000 people were killed mostly by the Americans and their supporters, such as the south Korean military, over a period of occupation lasting 51 days. Judging by these figures, it would have represented 1/4 of the population of Sinchon at the time of the massacre. North Korea claims the event (referred to as the Sinchon Massacre) resulted in the deaths of ~1/4 of the population of Sinchon over the course of 52 days before a counterattack by Chinese and North Korean forces. Il massacro di Sinchon è stata una strage di civili commessa presumibilmente dalle forze militari sudcoreane con l'autorizzazione dell'esercito statunitense tra il 17 ottobre e il 7 dicembre 1950, vicino alla città di Sinchon (attualmente parte della provincia dello Hwanghae Meridionale, Corea del Nord). No início da Guerra da Coreia, em 1950, a cidade de Sinch'ŏn era supostamente o local de um massacre de civis ocupando as forças dos EUA (ver Massacre de Sinchon). Hwang, in his book Sonnim (The Guest), claims that it was Korean communists that committed the massacre against other, rival communists. The Sinchon Museum of American War Atrocities is a museum dedicated to the Sinchon Massacre, an alleged massacre of North Korean civilian carried out by South Korean and US troops during the Korean War. The museum is located in Sinchon County of North Korea.
